Royal New Kent is a Mike Stratz designed golf course; one of two in New Kent County. His other New Kent County course is Stonehouse. Mike designed seven golf courses in his short career; he was a young 50 years old when he died from cancer in June 2005. His other five designed golf courses are Caledonia, True Blue, Tobacco Road, Tot Hill Farm, and Bulls Bay.

The Virginia Capital Trail is a 52-mile paved trail that connects Richmond to Jamestown to Williamsburg, Virginia. It offers a scenic route paralled to Route 5 that is perfect for biking, walking, running, and even inline skating. Here are some highlights:
